Introduction to EZ-cart

Introduction

EZ-cart is a robust and highly configurable shopping cart based on PHP and the Smarty template engine.

EZ-cart allows you to quickly setup an internet store.  EZ-cart is tightly integrated with EZ-om (EZ Order Manager) which is a powerful back-end order and inventory management system.

Combined with EZ-host (EZ Hosting), EZ-cart and EZ-om provide a complete store management system that allows you to manage your orders, inventory, suppliers and customer communications; all rolled into one package.

General Information

Once your store is configured in EZ-cart and you have installed and setup EZ Order Manager, the EZ Merchant Solution is ready to process your orders.

The following is a brief overview of the process of processing an order:

• Customer places an order on your site
• Order is transmitted to EZ-om
• Clicking EZ Order Manager from the Orders tab in the EZ-cart administrative area will take you to EZ Order Manager.  If you have previously logged in, you will be taken directly to the Orders page.  If not, you will be asked to login first.
• The order is now "fulfilled" in EZ-om, including order verification, shipping, charging and export to accounting.
• Any status changes the order goes throug in EZ-om are reflected in the cart automatically.  Hence if your customer inquires about the order, they will see the exact status of the order in EZ-om.

It's as simple as that!  Your cart (storefront) becomes your customer-facing environment and all your back-end order processing is managed in EZ-om.
